INTERNSHIPS IN THE SHIRES OF VERMONT
Bennington Comprehensive Internship Program is excited to announce the start of recruitment season for summer 2018 internships. Internships provide opportunities for businesses to explore new projects, increase capacity, and deepen their engagement with the community.
The goal of the program is to provide smaller businesses in the region that are well-positioned for growth, but hampered by workforce development barriers, with an internship program that provides “best-fit” internship matches from the local workforce in southwestern Vermont. The Bennington Comprehensive Internship Program aims to highlight local career opportunities and equip local businesses with the support they need to work with interns, ultimately benefitting economic growth for the region.
BCIP provides employers with the tools and support they need to recruit, train, and manage interns. Through one-on-one strategy sessions, employers determine how an intern project will benefit the business and what it will take to achieve the project goals. Additionally, the Bennington Comprehensive Internship Program offers free and ongoing support for both employers and interns.
The Bennington Comprehensive Internship Program, a project of the Bennington County Industrial Corporation’s Workforce and Education Committee, has been in the works for several years and grew out of recommendations from the Southern Vermont Economic Development Zone Committee report, released in 2015. The program is funded by a Regional Workforce Partnership from the Vermont Department of Labor.
