BENNINGTON, Vt. – Southern Vermont College (SVC) has been ranked the 25 th best

regional college in the north. The report was announced by the annual U.S. News &

World Report Best Colleges for 2019.

The Manchester Business Association and the Bennington Area Chamber of Commerce have reached an agreement under which the MBA will work with the chamber as its liaison in the Northshire and both organizations will help each other attract and serve members.

The Washington Post reports that the number of Baby Boomers now retiring daily is up to 10,000 (was 6,000 during the recession).  The number of Americans aged 65 or older that aren't in the labor force rose by 800,000 in the fourth quarter of 2016, marking the resumption of a long-standing trend: the exodus of the Baby Boomer (1946-1964) generation from the work force.

UCS is hosting it's 7th Annual "GoThe Distance" 5K. Run or walk a paved course through beautiful Bennington, Vermont. All proceeds go to help support Peer Services at United Counseling Services.

Bennington, VT – “Bennington Made,” a local series developed by CAT-TV and the Bennington Area Chamber of Commerce has won two 2017 Telly Awards.  The specific episodes that were entered were “Bennington Made – Vermont Wooden Blocks” and “Bennington Made – Madison Brewing Company”. 

The Bennington Area Chamber of Commerce unveiled the new regional visitors guide. The area guide, a staple of the Chamber’s tourism efforts, is updated yearly and distributed throughout the Northeast as a way to showcase the region’s various tourist attractions.
